Google Ads updates inappropriate content policies | Added: 31, March 2020
The other day, Google Ads has made changes to its policies in terms of inappropriate content. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the service has updated the emergency section.
According to new rules, the promotion of content designed to benefit from natural disasters, conflicts, deaths or other tragic events, as well as showing a cynical attitude to such events is strictly prohibited.
In particular, advertisers are prohibited to artificially raise prices; sell goods or services that are running out of stock due to increased demand in emergency situations; use keywords related to emergency situations to attract additional traffic, etc.
Prior to the update, the section “Events requiring a delicate attitude” contained less information: It should be recalled that in March Google Ads banned the advertising of medical masks.
